Hankyu, Hanshin dept. store operators to merge

OSAKA, Japan - Hankyu Department Stores Inc. and Hanshin Department Stores Ltd. plan to integrate their operations under a holding company in October, sources familiar with the matter said March 17.               Small RFID reader developed by Toppan Forms

              Toyota's Distribution Information Improvement Department has already introduced Toppan Forms' IC tags for location management to improve the efficiency of new car warehousing and inspection. It will be easier to increase the number of readers used in the vast new car yard, leading to further improvement in operational efficiency. The system can also be used as a stationary reader. The company expects to use the tags in office operations such as product lending/returning and tallying operations, and is aware that the tags will be adopted not only at manufacturing sites but also at dealerships.                 NTT DOCOMO's 5G, New Services and New Products Presentation

                NTT DoCoMo announced on the 18th that it will start commercial service of the 5th generation communication (5G) on the 25th. The "5G Gigaho" pricing plan will have unlimited data usage capacity for the time being, with a monthly fee starting at 4,480 yen (excluding consumption tax), 500 yen more than the current "Gigaho" 4G plan. The company aims to set up 20,000 5G base stations by fiscal 2021 and 20 million subscribers by fiscal 2011. 500 5G base stations will be installed within the month. The service will be available at 150 locations, including major stadiums such as Yokohama International Stadium and Hanshin Koshien Stadium, major transportation and tourist facilities such as Haneda International Airport, JR Osaka Station and Tokyo Sky Tree, and some docomo shops.
