FUJISAWA, Japan - Some 12,000 runners taking part in the first Shonan International Marathon in Kanagawa Prefecture on March 18 set off with Enoshima Island in the background. Olympic medalist Naoko Takahashi joined the race as a guest. (Kyodo)
