Kitajima falls 2nd to Hansen in 100 at world c'ships
MELBOURNE, Australia - American swimmer Brendan Hansen (L) and Japanese swimmer Kosuke Kitajima hold their gold and silver medal, respectively, on the podium after their 100-meter breaststroke final at the world swimming championships in Melbourne on March 26. Kitajima could not catch the speedy Hansen down the stretch and touched the wall in 59.96 seconds. Hansen, the world record holder in both the 100 and 200, defended his title in 59.80. (Kyodo)
