Chinese dissident Wei returns to U.S. after being denied entry
NARITA, Japan - U.S.-based Chinese democracy activist Wei Jingsheng speaks to reporters at Narita International Airport, northeast of Tokyo, on June 8 before leaving for the United States, ending his stay at an airport hotel where he had been forced to remain after Japanese immigration authorities denied him entry at the airport. Wei arrived at the airport June 2 from New York to attend and deliver a speech at an event the following day in Tokyo marking the 18th anniversary of the crackdown on pro-democracy activists in Beijing's Tiananmen Square.
