Abe picks cherry in Yamagata farm during stumping tour
YAMAGATA, Japan - Prime Minister Shinzo Abe picks cherries at a cherry farm in Higashine, Yamagata Prefecture, the largest cherry-producing region in Japan. Abe was traveling in the area on a stumping tour ahead of next month's House of Councillors election. Yamagata accounts for 75 percent of the nation's cherry output, and Higashine about 20 percent of the total, (Kyodo)
