Shinohara to replace Watanabe as Japan's top currency diplomat
TOKYO, Japan - Finance Minister Koji Omi has decided to appoint Naoyuki Shinohara (file photo), director general of his ministry's International Bureau, as vice finance minister for international affairs, replacing incumbent Hiroshi Watanabe, government sources said June 26. Omi is expected to announce the appointment after the ongoing Diet session adjourns in early July, the sources said. Watanabe, 58, will retire from the ministry.
