Nissan unveils engine hood to protect pedestrian's head in colli
TOKYO, Japan - Photo of a collision test involving a pop-up engine hood developed by Nissan Motor Co. to mitigate the physical shock to a pedestrian's head. According to Nissan, when a sensor in the front bumper detects a collision with a pedestrian, a control unit gauges the intensity of the impact and immediately determines whether to raise the hood of the car by about 10 centimeters.
