IPCC chairman calls for lifestyle change to tackle global warmin

TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda addresses the opening session Oct. 19 of an international conference in Tokyo on climate change hosted by Japan-based nongovernmental organization Global Environment Action. Rajendra Pachauri, head of the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, stressed the importance of changing lifestyles to tackle global warming, citing as an example the Japanese government-led ''Cool Biz'' casual attire campaign.
