Upper house rejects 3 nominees for gov't panels
TOKYO, Japan - House of Councillors members from the main opposition Democratic Party of Japan applaud after a plenary session of the opposition-controlled upper house on Nov. 14 rejected the government's proposals to reappointment three nominees to government panels. It is the first time in 56 years that such proposals have been rejected in the Diet. (Kyodo)
