Japan politician supports Dalai's call for greater autonomy
TOKYO, Japan - Democratic Party of Japan Secretary General Yukio Hatoyama (R) meets with the Dalai Lama, the exiled spiritual leader of Tibet, at a hotel in Tokyo on Nov. 23. Hatoyama, the No. 2 man of Japan's largest opposition party, expressed support for the Dalai Lama's call for a ''high degree of autonomy'' in Tibet. The Dalai Lama arrived in Japan on Nov. 15 for a 10-day visit at the invitation of a religious group. (Kyodo)
