Figure skating: Asada grabs lead after SP at national c'ships
OSAKA, Japan - Mao Asada executes a jump in a flawless short program at the national figure skating championships at Osaka's Namihaya Dome on Dec. 27 that earned her the world's all-time highest score. Asada, who had habitually made blunders in her short programs at major international meets earlier in the season, cleanly executed a triple-triple combination jump for the first time this winter en route to earning 72.92 points.
