DPJ head vows to take power, rules out alliance with LDP
TOKYO, Japan - Ichiro Ozawa, leader of the Democratic Party of Japan, is surrounded by admirers after a visit to the Ise Jingu shrine in Mie Prefecture on Jan. 4. Speaking to reporters later, Ozawa expressed his resolve to take power by winning the House of Representatives election expected this year and ruled out the possibility of forming a grand coalition with the Liberal Democratic Party.
