Germany's Bochum hold off on acquisition of Ono for now
BOCHUM, Germany - Urawa Reds midfielder Shinji Ono (C) takes part in a team practice of German first-division club VfL Bochum in Bochum on Jan. 4. The German club decided not to acquire Ono the same day after the former Japan international complained of pain in his left ankle in practice. ''Bochum will decide whether to work with Ono in the future depending on how his ankle recovers,'' board director Stefan Kuntz said. (Kyodo)
