Matsushita to rename itself Panasonic

OSAKA, Japan - A file photo shows the head office of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. located in Kadoma, Osaka Prefecture. The consumer electronics giant will rename itself Panasonic, dropping founder Konosuke Matsushita's name from the company name, sources close to the matter said on Jan. 10. (Kyodo)
