Lower house panel to file perjury charge against Moriya
TOKYO, Japan - A House of Representatives committee decided on Jan. 9 to file a perjury charge against former Vice Defense Minister Takemasa Moriya (in file photo). Moriya testified as a sworn witness before the committee on Oct. 29, and denied doing any favors for Motonobu Miyazaki, a former executive of defense equipment trader Yamada Corp., in exchange for golf outings, entertainment and other benefits when he was still the top defense bureaucrat.
