Marathon debutant Adachi wins Beppu-Oita race
OITA, Japan - Little-known local runner Tomoya Adachi emerges as the surprise winner at the Beppu-Oita Mainichi Marathon with a come-from-behind victory in his marathon debut on Feb. 3. He crossed the finish line at Oita municipal athletics stadium in 2 hours, 11 minutes, 59 seconds. (Kyodo)
