Ruling camp urges talks with opposition bloc over BOJ chief
TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda (R) and members of his Cabinet stand up in acknowledgment at the House of Representatives on March 13 after the government-controlled lower house voted to approve the nomination of Deputy BOJ Governor Toshiro Muto as the next chief of the central bank. The ruling coalition called for direct talks with opposition to break the political deadlock as the opposition-controlled upper house had voted against the nomination. (Kyodo)
