Fukuda attends National Defense Academy graduation ceremony
YOKOSUKA, Japan - Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda addresses graduating cadets during a graduation ceremony at the National Defense Academy in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture on March 23. A total of 424 students graduated this year, including 23 female cadets and nine foreign cadets. The academy says 26 graduating cadets turned down their commissions in the Self-Defense Forces, the largest number in the past 10 years. (Kyodo)
