Diet approves Shirakawa's nomination for BOJ chief
TOKYO, Japan - Both houses of the Japanese Diet on April 9 approved the nomination of acting Bank of Japan Governor Masaaki Shirakawa for the central bank chief, paving the way for him to assume the top post at the BOJ later in the day.
