TOKYO, Japan - Bank of Japan Governor Masaaki Shirakawa (R) speaks during a news conference at the central bank's head office in Tokyo on Dec. 2. The BOJ's Policy Board decided in an extraordinary meeting to introduce emergency measures to facilitate corporate financing, including the launch of a new fund-supply operation that will funnel an estimated 3 trillion yen into companies suffering from the credit crunch.
