Sharp to voluntarily recall over 16,500 projectors

OSAKA, Japan - Photo shows Sharp Corp.'s XV-101T projector. The company said Dec. 2 it will recall a total of 16,599 liquid crystal projectors in Japan from Dec. 3 after it received reports of two cases of fire involving the equipment. The projectors, the XV-101T and five other types, were made between January 1990 and August 1993. The equipment is no longer on sale. (Kyodo)
