Aso willing to introduce taxpayer ID number system

TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Taro Aso (L) exchanges a few words with Renho, a lawmaker from the main opposition Democratic Party of Japan, after a session of the House of Councillors Budget Committee on Jan. 19. Aso showed willingness to consider introducing a taxpayer identification number system during the session on the first day of deliberations in the upper chamber on a government-proposed second supplementary budget for fiscal 2008.
