Latvian PM eager to learn lessons from Japan
TOKYO, Japan - Visiting Latvian Prime Minister Ivars Godmanis speaks during a news conference at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan in Tokyo on Jan. 22. He expressed his eagerness to draw upon the lessons Japan learned from its own financial crisis following the burst of the asset-inflated bubble economy in the early 1990s as the Baltic country struggles amid the global financial turmoil.
