Biofuel-powered JAL airliner conducts flight test
TOKYO, Japan - A Japan Airlines Boeing 747-300 fitted with an environmentally friendly biofuel-powered engine took off from Tokyo's Haneda airport on Jan. 30 for a test flight. One of the jumbo jet's four Pratt & Whitney engines was powered by a biofuel blended half-and-half with conventional kerosene-based jet fuel. (Kyodo)
