Libya's Qaddafi meets with Japan's Koike, calls for closer ties

TRIPOLI, Libya - Former Japanese Defense Minister Yuriko Koike (2nd from L), a House of Representatives member from the opposition Liberal Democratic Party, hands gifts to Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi (R) after their meeting in a tent in the Libyan capital of Tripoli on Nov. 20, 2009.
