Sunflowers bloom out of season on wide farmland in Toyama
TOYAMA, Japan - Large sunflowers are captured in their full glory on a 1,000-square-meter area of farmland in Toyama Prefecture Dec. 10, 2009. Warm weather apparently had something to do with the flowering of the gorgeous summer plants in early winter. Local people are stunned by the out-of-season spectacle that emerged against the backdrop of trees bearing autumn fruit and a snow-clad mountain. (Kyodo)
