The "Honest John," a U.S. surface-to-surface missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead, is seen at the then U.S. Camp Drake (straddling Tokyo and Saitama Prefecture) in eastern Japan in October 1955. The missiles were deployed in Okinawa, South Korea and Europe. (Kyodo)
