UNDP chief calls for pre-emptive spending to reduce disaster risks
U.N. Development Program Administrator Helen Clark is interviewed by Kyodo News on March 15, 2015 in Sendai, northeastern Japan, where a five-day U.N. world conference on disaster risk reduction is taking place. Clark said the international community needs to invest more in pre-emptive measures to reduce risks from natural disasters, rather than spending a lot after they happen. (Kyodo)
