Ex-Navy seaman hails emperor's visit to Peleliu for fallen comrades
Photo taken Jan. 21, 2015, in Japan's southwestern city of Chikugo shows Kiyokazu Tsuchida, a former Japanese seaman who survived a fierce 1944 battle with U.S. troops on Peleliu Island in Palau. Tsuchida, 95, waited in anticipation for the arrival on April 9 of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko on the island, saying, "When (the souls of the fallen comrades) meet with the emperor, they would be delighted and surprised."
