Gods of Shimogamo Jinja return to main halls
A return-of-the-gods ceremony held at Shimogamo Jinja, a world heritage Shinto shrine complex in Kyoto, western Japan, is conducted on April 27, 2015, after their brief relocation into temporary structures from the main halls. The buildings of Shimogamo Jinja are reconstructed once every 21 years based on the Shikinen Sengu system. (Kyodo)
