"Milky Way" appears on river in Osaka
Around 50,000 plastic balls, each measuring 8.5 centimeters in diameter and containing blue light-emitting diodes and batteries charged by solar power, float on the Okawa River in Osaka, western Japan, on July 7, 2010, imitating the Milky Way to celebrate the annual "tanabata" Star Festival the same day. Photo was taken with a 35-second exposure. (Kyodo)
