Okajima is 1st Japanese hired by NASA as regular employee
Takashi Okajima, a research astrophysicist at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, poses at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. NASA hired him as its first Japanese regular employee in 2011 in recognition of his role in developing the Astro-H exploration X-ray telescope. (Kyodo)
