Nobel laureates Akasaki, Amano honored by Aichi Prefecture
Isamu Akasaki (L) and Hiroshi Amano, two of the 2014 Nobel physics prize winners behind the invention of energy-efficient blue light-emitting diodes, show off their honorary citizen medals from the Aichi prefectural government after a presentation ceremony in Nagoya, central Japan, on Sept. 11, 2015.
