Giant conveyor belt stretches in tsunami-hit northern Japan city
A giant conveyor belt stretching some 3 km lies still upon completion of its mission of carrying earth and sand in the tsunami-ravaged northeastern Japanese city of Rikuzentakata on Sept. 15, 2015. The belt had been in operation since the end of March 2014, three years after the disaster. (Kyodo)
