UNESCO adds WWII Japanese detainees' records to world memory list
Seiichi Yasuda, a survivor of post-World War II internment of Japanese nationals by the Soviet Union, shows his sketches during an interview in Tokyo on Aug. 11, 2015, about life during his four years in Siberia. The drawings, along with other items of interned Japanese troops and civilians, were added by UNESCO to its "Memory of the World" program on Oct. 10. (Kyodo)
