China still eyes "comfort women" documents for UNESCO memory list
File photo taken on Oct. 5, 2015, shows one of several old buildings said to be "comfort women" quarters used by Japanese troops as front-line brothels in China's Nanjing city before and during World War II. China made it clear on Oct. 12 that it will consider applying with other countries for the registration of documents related to the sex slavery on UNESCO's "Memory of the World" list, a move turned down by the U.N. agency last week.
