Man keeps aquarium, hoping Ariake Sea to become cleaner
Photo taken on Sept. 23, 2015, shows Junzo Kondo explaining at the Okinohata Aquarium in Yanagawa, Fukuoka Prefecture, southwestern Japan, about old fishing gear once used in the Ariake Sea when it was cleaner. The aquarium, built at his own expense, keeps many species of fish that used to be found in the sea, now sealed by gates to facilitate land reclamation in a controversial project. (Kyodo)
