JR West tests new train control system in Kyoto

West Japan Railway Co. (JR West) conducts a running test on its new train control system on the Sagano Line in Kyoto Prefecture, western Japan, on Oct. 15, 2015. The new system automatically controls a train's speed on the basis of position information radioed from a moving train and is expected to replace the current automatic train stop (ATS) system.
