Paper on feudal Japan's Christianity ban displayed in Vatican
A document written with brush and ink, seen in this photo taken at the Vatican Library in Rome on Sept. 12, 2015, is among a large number of historical papers about a ban on Christianity imposed by the Tokugawa shogunate in feudal Japan. The documents, collected by Rev. Mario Marega in the 20th century, were discovered at the library in 2011. (Kyodo)
