Kyushu scientist awarded Kyoto Prize
Toyoki Kunitake, director of the Kitakyushu Foundation for the Advancement of Industry, Science and Technology, receives the Kyoto Prize, an annual prize which honors those who have contributed significantly to the scientific, cultural, and spiritual betterment of mankind, in Kyoto on Nov. 10, 2015. Kunitake was recognized for his "pioneering contributions to the materials sciences by discovering synthetic bilayer membranes and creating the field of chemistry based on molecular self-assembly."
