Giant torches blaze up Fukushima festival
About 25 giant torches blaze at the traditional "Taimatsu Akashi" festival in Sukagawa, Fukushima Prefecture, northeastern Japan, on Nov. 14, 2015. The event is believed to have started more than 400 years ago to commemorate victims of the war in which the army of feudal lord Date Masamune from Sendai domain conquered Sukagawa Castle. (Kyodo)
