Former Nagasaki Gov. Isamu Takada shows in Nagasaki city on Nov. 19, 2015, the necktie he received from Hu Yaobang, China's reformist leader in the 1980s who worked to forge better relations with Japan, in an exchange of ties during Hu's November 1983 visit to the southwestern Japanese prefecture. In the background is a stone monument with calligraphy by Hu, born on Nov. 20 a century ago. (Kyodo)
