Legislation delay in Japan puts Vietnamese caregivers' plans in limbo
Photo taken July 21, 2016 shows Do Thi Hang, a 23-year-old Vietnamese national, learning Japanese at a park in Hanoi, Vietnam, during a break from work. She is among those young Vietnamese who gave up working as caregivers in Japan under a skill acquisition program for foreign workers after parliament failed to approve necessary legislation. She is still looking for a chance to work in Japan.
