Japan sumo association promotes sport with eye on Tokyo 2020 Games
Grand champions Harumafuji (L) and Kakuryu perform a "sandan-gamae," a rarely seen three-level ceremonial pose representing a strong spirit, attack and defense, during an event at Tokyo's Ryogoku Kokugikan on Oct. 4, 2016. The event was aimed at making the ancient Japanese sport more accessible to non-Japanese and people with disabilities, with an eye on the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. (Kyodo)
