Japanese investment set to change the face of train travel in Yangon
Two Japanese trains, now running on the Yangon Circular Railway, stand at Yangon Central Railway Station in Myanmar on Oct. 29, 2016. The Japan International Cooperation Agency has supplied a loan of 24.87 billion yen ($212 million) to upgrade the signaling and rolling stock on the line, with work expected to be completed by 2020.
