GSDF plane crash apparently caused by crew unaware autopilot was off
File photo taken on May 16, 2017, shows the wreckage of a Ground Self-Defense Force aircraft, which crashed into a mountain in Japan's northernmost main island of Hokkaido. The GSDF said Sept. 13 that the fatal crash of the LR-2 reconnaissance aircraft amid low visibility was apparently caused by the crew being unaware the autopilot system had been switched off. (Kyodo)
