Issue of wartime "comfort women"
Lee Yong Soo (2nd from L), one of 15 surviving "comfort women" acknowledged by the South Korean government who were forced to work in Japan's wartime military brothels, visits the Japanese Embassy in Seoul on April 14, 2021. Lee handed to the embassy a letter asking Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga to refer the issue to the International Court of Justice.
