Fukui textile firms supply carbon fiber for Airbus engine fan casing
Tadashi Shindo (L), chief executive officer of Shindo Co., and Fukui Gov. Issei Nishikawa pose by an aircraft engine fan casing made from a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic material developed by the company and another local textile firm in Fukui, western Japan, on Jan. 22, 2015. The fan casing, manufactured by a major Tokyo machinery company, is supplied to European aircraft maker Airbus SAS for the engines of new aircraft set to begin flying soon. (Kyodo)
