Japan, Taiwan officials plant cherry trees for friendship
Japanese and Taiwanese officials plant one of some 500 cherry trees in a former school yard in Nantou, central Taiwan, on Feb. 1, 2015, during a ceremony to promote bilateral friendship. An anti-Japan uprising occurred at the school in 1930 when Taiwan was under Japanese rule. (Kyodo)
