Japanese doll set gifted to John F. Kennedy traced to Hokkaido woman
Photo taken Feb. 9, 2015, in the northeastern Japan city of Kitami shows Tsuyako Matsumoto, who sent a set of traditional Japanese dolls in 1962 to U.S. President John F. Kennedy, the father of U.S. Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy. Matsumoto was identified as the sender after Ambassador Kennedy solicited support from the news media to discover the origins of the gift. (Kyodo)
